Last year, Create Healthy donated $500,000 to the Little Hearts Child Development Center Capital Campaign to build a new early childhood care center for children up to three years old, and construction is officially underway!
“We’re thrilled to see something that clearly means so much to our community begin to take shape,” said Jayne Pope, RN, CEO, Create Healthy. “Investing in early childhood education is one of our primary focus areas, and we’re grateful to be a part of creating a safe and inclusive environment where Hill Country children can learn, play, and grow.”
Once completed, Little Hearts will be able to care for up to 74 children. The facility will be staffed by a team of licensed and trauma-informed caregivers, and the organization’s goal is to prioritize care for young children from families with low incomes and those who have experienced trauma. The new childcare center will be on the grounds of the Hill Country Community Needs Council.
