Hill Country Mental Health Landscape Assessment
The Hill Country Mental Health Coalition began meeting in 2023 with support from Create Healthy to bring together providers, organizations, schools, and law enforcement to collaborate to improve access to mental health services in our communities. The Coalition meets regularly to identify areas of collaboration and services improvement.
Hill Country Mental Health Landscape Assessment
One of the Coalition’s first activities was to commission a robust study of behavioral health service availability, barriers, and gaps in the communities Create Healthy serves: Blanco, Llano, Gillespie, and Mason Counties and the town of Comfort.
Based on input from the community and data showing that accessing mental health services in rural Texas communities is a significant challenge, the landscape assessment identifies agencies that provide behavioral health services in Create Healthy’s catchment and describes the services they offer, the population they serve, their organizational capacity, and the barriers they experience in trying to meet those needs.
