Create Healthy Launches Scholarships for Adult Learners Pursuing Healthcare-Related Education and Professional Development

Create Healthy has launched its Adult Learners Scholarship to support working adults starting, returning to, or continuing healthcare-related education. The program is part of Create Healthy’s ongoing investment to support a healthy, resilient Hill Country through local healthcare workforce development.

Adult learners may apply for financial support to pursue degrees, professional certifications, or continuing education in a wide range of healthcare fields — from nursing and public health to mental health counseling, dental hygiene, medical technology, and healthcare support services. The full list of qualifying studies is available at CreateHealthy.org/scholarships/adult-learners.

“Create Healthy is supporting adult learners to grow the Hill Country’s healthcare workforce and invest in our local healthcare infrastructure to meet the needs of our growing communities,” said Jayne Pope, RN, MBA, president and CEO of Create Healthy.

Scholarship applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Applicants must submit a completed application form, a short answer question, proof of enrollment or acceptance into a health-related program, two letters of recommendation (one from an employer and one from a colleague), and proof of financial need. Full instructions are available at CreateHealthy.org/Scholarships/adult-learners.

“We’re proud to help and encourage members of our community who are investing in their education and professional development,” said Erin Carter, Create Healthy scholarships council chair. “Our goal is to make it easier to continue, start, or return to healthcare education.”

Scholarships may be used for tuition, books, certification fees, or other academic-related costs.

The new Adult Learners Scholarship builds on Create Healthy’s education investments totaling more than $570,000 to area education organizations to support Hill Country students pursuing higher education opportunities in healthcare.

The application is available at CreateHealthy.org/Scholarships/adult-learners. Applications and materials can be submitted via email to Scholarships@CreateHealthy.org or mailed to:
