Create Healthy Offers Thanksgiving and Winter Break Fit Kids Camps

The Create Healthy Wellness Center will once again host its popular Fit Kids Sports & Fitness Camps over school Thanksgiving and winter breaks, offering children ages 5 to 12 safe, fun, and active way to spend the school breaks.

“Programs like Fit Kids reflect what Create Healthy is all about — keeping everyone in our community active and engaged,” said Jayne Pope, president and CEO of Create Healthy. “Fit Kids gives parents peace of mind with reliable and safe childcare and kids what they want with active fun and friends.”

The Thanksgiving Fit Kids Camp will run Monday, November 24 through Wednesday, November 26, from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. daily. Activities include a mix of bounce-house fun, bowling, and swimming. Drop-off and pick-up will take place at Fredericksburg Elementary School Gym, with transportation provided to off-site activities by Alamo Regional Transit. Cost is $50 per day, with space limited to 40 children.

“Fit Kids is one of our most-loved programs,” said Dawn Bourgeois, Create Heathy Wellness Center director. “It gives our families a safe and active childcare option during school breaks while keeping kids moving and social.”

Following the Thanksgiving session, the Fit Kids Winter Camp will offer three weeks of programming:

  • Week 1: December 22, 23, and 26
  • Week 2: December 29, 30, 31, and January 2
  • Week 3: January 5–9

Winter Camp activities will include ice skating, swimming, bowling, indoor games, crafts, bouncy castles, and an Arrows Adventure Park trip. Camp hours are 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and families can register by the day ($50/day) or by the week ($165/week).

Pre-registration is required, and space is limited to 40 campers per week.
