Create Healthy Awards $359,000 in New Grants to Support Hill Country Communities

Funding supports mental health, early childhood development, and healthy living initiatives across the region

Create Healthy has awarded a second round of grants this year, continuing its investment in local programs that support healthier communities across the Hill Country. The grants to eight nonprofit organizations total $359,000.

Following the recommendation of the advisory Grants Council, the Create Healthy Board of Directors approved funding for projects focused on mental health, early childhood development, and healthy living.

“These grants reflect Create Healthy’s continued commitment to long-term investment in organizations that are supporting a healthier Hill Country,” said Jayne Pope, RN, MBA, FACHE, president and CEO of Create Healthy. “From counseling services and early childhood support to healthcare access and youth recreation, these projects align with Create Healthy’s vision for a community where all can contribute and thrive.”

  • Barnabas Episcopal ChurchMoms’ Morning Off Playground Equipment
  • Good Samaritan CenterLab & Imaging Services for Good Samaritan Patients
  • Kerr County Young Men’s Christian AssociationGrowing Youth Sports Through Partnership with Gillespie County

“The Grants Council is always focused on supporting projects that respond to clear community needs and align with Create Healthy’s funding priorities,” said Laura Cook, chair, Create Healthy Grants Council. “This latest round of grants supports organizations doing important work for children, families, and individuals across the region, and we are proud to help advance that impact.”

Create Healthy provides grants and other philanthropic support to nonprofit organizations working to improve health and wellness in Gillespie, Blanco, Llano, and Mason Counties and the town of Comfort. Funding decisions are made quarterly and approved by the Create Healthy Board of Directors.
